Super fast position recognition  
This is much better than the Garmin Nuvi. Once you power it on it only takes a second to be ready and recognize your position. The Nuvi would take minutes sometimes. The navigation is excellent as well. When there is an immediate turn after another the first it show you both in advance. This is really helpful! :2010-09-15 04:38:15

Maestro does everything I want it to  
I happened to go to Canada and Hawaii this year so I wanted to pick up a GPS that had those maps. After searching for a bit I found this unit on Amazon for about $80.

It does everything I expect it to including:
text to speech
Alaska (havent tried) Hawaii and Canada maps
a lot of Points of Interest

I like that it can figures out my current location fairly quickly. It seemed to take my Navigon 5-10 minutes to pinpoint the current location.

One negative is the user interface isnt as intuitive as some other GPS systems Ive used. If I dont use it for a few weeks I forget how to save new locations.

Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS  
I replaced this item (Magellan Maestro 4040) after having the original stolen and obviously was quite pleased enough to replace it and the replacement was delivered promptly and in excellent condition. refurbished rip-off  
i bid on and won an item that was advertised as refurbished but when it came the item---a magellan maestro 4040 -----did not work and it was incomplete. the jack where the power cord connects was missing----it was just a hole in the plastic case and the memory chip which has all the maps and instructionswas missing.
i have filed a claim with amazon and am waiting for a refund.
